Also studies about money transfer mechanisms to remote rural areas and establish ties between remittances and other financial services.
Finally, It would be big pleasure to share the experience, after case studies, with participants.

Profile: Dulan De Silva has 21+ years experience in the development sector. His focus is primarily in Micro-Finance, enterprise development services, institutional development services and vocational training. He has a MBA from Florida State University, Tallahassee, USA and is also a Chartered Management Accountant qualifying from the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants, UK. After a career spanning 15 years in Finance and Accounting in Sri Lanka and Sultanate of Oman, Dulan shifted to the development sector in 1986 to start SEEDS as its founding Chief Executive Officer . SEEDS is currently the largest microfinance NGO in Sri Lanka. During 1993 to 1997 he was the Director NGO programs of IUCN in Pakistan, and Program coordinator of IUCN in Cambodia. He has consulted for organizations such as IFAD, UNDP, WorldBank, ADB, CARE, DFID, NOVID etc in 14 countries. He also held two Regional positions as Asian Region Micro Enterprise Specialist CCF, USA and as Trainer in Financial Management and Financial Sustainability of NGO’s for Asian Institute of Technology. for He is presently Chairman of Berendina Development Services (GTE) Ltd and Berendina Microfinance Institute.

Profile: I am a Postgraduate in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India having 24 years of working experience in Development sector out of which 15 years are in micro finance sector. I have also done certificate courses on Enterprise development and Universalizing socio-economic security for the poor from Harvard University, USA and Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands respectively. I had worked as CEO of Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Nidhi (a national level funding agency sponsored by three Central Government Financial institutions to support NGOs for micro finance initiatives in India)), prior to setting up the Madhyam Foundation in 2003 where currently I work as its Executive Director Madhyam provides capacity building and technical support to a whole range of stakeholders like Donors, MFIs, Banks and Government Agencies, engaged in micro finance initiatives.
I have executed more than 60 micro finance related consulting assignments for international agencies such as the Ford Foundation, NOVIB, CARE, Freedom from Hunger, MISEREOR, Lutheran World Relief, CRS, OXFAM, Action Aid, TDH-Geneva, and Concern Worldwide. I regularly advise a large number of Micro Finance Institutions across India on targeting and expansion strategies, operational systems and procedures, development of financial products, MIS, HRD issues etc . Currently, I serve as an Honorary Member on the Capacity building Advisory Group of Sa-Dhan, New Delhi, the National level Network of Micro finance institutions in India. Between May,2004 and May,2007, I anchored a micro finance capacity building project of Center for Youth and Social Development( CYSD), Orissa that was supported by the Ford Foundation.

Profile: Social Worker. Founder and CEO of the NGO BISWA, Khirod Malick oversees all of its activities, including policy and guidance, day to day management, personnel finance, and MIS. He is also in charge of monitoring and evaluation of on-going projects; planning long and short-term perspective plans for the community; establishing convergence between program interventions and among various line departments. Also involved in social work as member of different social networks organizations at the district, state, and national level. Formerly, he worked as the Nodal Officer, Community Services Banking of the State Bank of India.
He has also worked as a consultant with various agencies providing technical assistance on different human development disciplines, and in Research and Development, making studies on different socio-economic, and environmental issues.
